The build below is my 1:24 scale model of a Bell AH-1F Cobra attack helicopter. It was inspired when my cousin arranged for a tour of some surplus Army helicopters being stored at our local regional airport. I took some photos of a decommissioned Cobra (see the one to the right) and decided to try to build it in LEGO. I researched the model (a AH-1F) and built this LEGO version. I decided to include powered main and tail rotors. I ended up having to sacrifice some realism in order to fit the technic mechanics into the model at this scale. But overall, I was happy with the final result. In addition to the powered rotors, I added some lights as well. There are four lights, one below the main rotor, two at the side winglets and one mounted behind the M197 20mm cannon in front. This is still a work in progress as there is a bit more plating coverage to do and I need to complete the builds for the armament package.
